BudX Fifa Fan Festival
When Wink Agency in Amsterdam approached us for the BudX Fifa Fan Festival, we knew we were about to embark on a monumental project. As one of the leading sponsors of the Fifa World Cup ’22 in Qatar, Budweiser wanted to create immersive match-viewing events in five key markets. Their vision was to blur the lines between a festival experience, brand activations, and Super Bowl half-time shows, creating a dynamic and unforgettable event. The challenge was set, and we were ready to bring their ambitious vision to life.
Designing Iconic and Immersive Experiences
Our design team set out to visualize different tiers for both indoor and outdoor events, ensuring a consistent and captivating experience. The iconic Budweiser bow-tie took center stage in all designs, symbolising the brand while maintaining a cheerful and open festival atmosphere. The event space was meticulously crafted, featuring an entrance experience reminiscent of a player’s tunnel, small football play courts, and fully designed food stands. These elements enveloped a central stage setup, perfect for both artist performances and match viewings, creating an engaging and multifaceted environment for attendees.
Crafting the Festiflow with Creative Expertise
Our creative director, Mark Rietveld, brought his extensive background in cutting-edge festival experiences to the project, crafting a unique ‘flow of show’ for the BudX Fifa Fan Festival. This festiflow was designed to seamlessly alternate between different match outcomes, ensuring that the energy and engagement remained high regardless of the game’s result. Mark’s expertise ensured that every moment was thoughtfully planned and executed, creating a cohesive and dynamic experience that captivated audiences and left a lasting impression.
Creating an Immersive Auditive Experience
The audio production process was a crucial element of the BudX Fifa Fan Festival, where we created a full auditive content show package. This package included bumpers, leaders, intro-shows, half-time shows, and a show ending that culminated in Lil Baby’s Fifa 22 anthem, based on the 80’s classic “Everybody Wants to Rule the World.” The integration of these auditive elements ensured a seamless and immersive experience, enhancing the overall atmosphere and leaving a powerful, lasting impact on the audience.
